Your data stays with you
We believe in transparency. Here's exactly what we collect, how we use it, and how we keep your information safe.
The short version
- We only collect your email address when you sign up voluntarily
- We never collect, store, or have access to any student data
- The desktop app processes everything on your computer — nothing is sent to us
- We don't sell or share your information with anyone
- You can unsubscribe or request data deletion at any time
What we collect
We collect only the information you voluntarily provide to us. This includes your email address when you sign up for our newsletter, join the consulting waitlist, or request a download link for the EIP Dashboard Suite. We may also collect your name and school or organisation if you choose to provide these. We do not collect any student data, assessment results, or personally identifiable information about students at any point.
How we use your information
- To send you the download link for the EIP Dashboard Suite desktop app
- To notify you when consulting services become available (if you joined the waitlist)
- To send occasional updates about new tools, resources, or features (if you subscribed to the newsletter)
- You can unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link at the bottom of each message
The EIP Dashboard Suite (desktop app)
The EIP Dashboard Suite is a desktop application that runs entirely on your computer. When you upload NAPLAN CSV files, all processing happens locally on your machine — no data is sent to our servers or any third party. Student names are automatically stripped and student IDs are replaced with anonymised codes. The generated dashboards are self-contained files stored on your device. We have no ability to see, access, or recover any student data at any point. When you close the app, all uploaded data is cleared from memory.
The diagnostic survey
When you complete the Data Literacy Pulse Check survey on our website, your responses are processed in your browser to generate instant results. We do not store your individual survey responses on our servers. If you choose to receive a PDF report by email, your responses are used to generate the report and are not retained afterward.
Third-party services
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — manages our email signup forms and sends emails on our behalf. Kit stores your email address and any information you provide at signup. View Kit’s privacy policy at kit.com/privacy
- Vercel — hosts our website. Vercel may collect basic analytics data such as page views and visitor counts. No personally identifiable information is shared. View Vercel’s privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties
Cookies and tracking
Our website uses only essential cookies required for the site to function (such as session management). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or social media trackers. The diagnostic survey uses your browser’s local storage to save your progress — this data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. We may use privacy-friendly analytics (such as Vercel Analytics) to understand general site usage patterns, but this data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.
Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we hold. Email addresses are stored securely by our email provider (Kit). Our website is served over HTTPS, ensuring data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted. Since we do not collect or store student data, there is no risk of student information being compromised through our services.
Australian Privacy Act and your rights
Evidence Informed Practice operates from Melbourne, Australia, and complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information, and request deletion of your data. For international visitors, including those in the European Economic Area, we respect your rights under applicable data protection laws including the GDPR. You may exercise any of these rights by contacting us using the details below.
